unpacking and packing

God has blessed me with a big and cheap appartement! I have really enjoyed living here, and we have served the Lord many times together. During my time abroad i had some friends living here… Now i have finally put all the things the way I want to have them. All though I enjoyed the difference that their arrangement brought, it just  wasn’t practical enought for me :P So now I’m waiting for the last floors to dry. Then after cleaning the toilet I’m done with my cleaning..

I broke my coffee-pot (or whatever its called).. it was the 2nd one that I brake while living here.. is that a sign that I should stop drinking coffee?? or is it just because of that why I never buy expensive things for th citchen? this coffee-maket that I’m using now was 5€ on sale.. so It’s not a big loss…

Now the floor seesm dry… I need to go down to the basement and sig out some stuff from all the boxes that I have down there.. then I’ll pack car, go swimming and start driving up to Vasa. After I’ve left I have some friends who will come and live here this week. They are the leaders for an missions-team that they are having at the faces-festival this weekend. So then my appartement cant serve to Lord by providing them housing.. instead of me being on the team :) it works like that too :)

have a great day u all!

vacation is…

This is my last week of vacation. and that is good. vacations always make me too lazy. I know that I need to relax and take it easy for a while, as the past 6 months has been really intensive.. but then after a few weeks of only spare time and nothing that others require of u the spare time is just too much. and thats where I’m now.. I feel that at the same time as I want to do all the things I don’t have time for during the semsters, I just don’t feel like doing anything. Like cleaning my flat and digging out some stuff from the box in my basement is just too much.. or then not. It’s just like in this picture where A was playing with ”the good and the bad”.

when vacation comes one need to really watch it so that u don’t get into unhealthy rutines and do stuff bad for u.. or that u don’t do things that are good for u.

well.. thinking of all theese things I might just stay down here in Karis until Wednesday. Just because here I live alone. In Vaasa we hav our relatives visiting from Sweden. and there isn’t much quiet in that house.. hmm. well well. now I’m gonna clean and then I’m gonna fix my bike so I can take a tour in this beloved City!

the Sheep

as one pictures says moore than a 1000 words I’ll just post some pictures and explain shortly what has happend over the past week.. o bye the way, if u’ve seen my newest pictures on facebook, u’ve already seen theese. sorry.

First of all I must just say that I thought I didn’t have internet in my appartement here in Karis. Because I didn’t know where my modem was.. but then when I actually started looking for it yesterday I found it!! :) so now I can surf on the big big waves.

It’s summer if u haven’t noticed!!! I’ve been swimming 3 days in a row now. I’ll see how long I can keep it going.

Last Wednesday me and Amelie baked 130 cinnamon buns to Friday’s outreach.. or lets say I did most of the job, Ameliii helped a bit and she was thinking about what we could do for the kids on Friday. thats her job, to think and get the ideas and visions and then I just help her make them true. And she/we got/were given a idea! A brilliant one.. Why wonät we take and sow 150 small stuffed sheep that we can give to kids… yes, why won’t we as they have to be finished in less than 48 hours??

So she started drawin and made a pattern. we bought some material and started working. after the first one I changed the pattern and then we started making them.. This was Wednesday night around 8pm and they were supposed to be all made til Friday :) when we finally went to bed on Wednesday we had like 15 done and one day left… and my appartment was again a project-house!! I lived like this for 4-5 days:

Thursday came and we kept on sowing. Amelie was cutting, turning them around and filling them. I was sowing. 16 at a time.. and at some point we actually made 16 in an hour…. but later in the night the pace was a little bit slower of some reason……. but at 4.30 am on Friday morning we counted and decided that 133 is enough..

after sleeping a few hours Amelie made the papers.. we cut them and hung them on the sheep. It says (roughly translated) U are a little sheep and Jesus carries u in His arms. So there we were with 133 sheep.. and Karis-night was about to start.. but we needed more people to hand them out.. so a couple of phone-calls and the group was gathered:

2 ants, 1 creature and 1 Ida is what was needed to hand out 133 sheep to pre-school kids on Karis-Night.

That was so much fun!!!! and the majority of the kids were so happy for getting something for free. we spread a lot of joy and smiles walking around like that on the streets among the partying people..

family-time

so this week that has passed has been filled with family-time. We had my niece’s baby dedication yesterday and it took a lot time in preparation before and the whole of yesterday.

my sister TT has been here almost everyday with her two kids A and L.. as her husband is at work and its kinda tricky to take care of both of the kids home alone.. and we really love having them here as A brings so much life with him. he knows his way around and he really knows what he wants and from whom..

So here comes some pictures from the past days..

As you can see we are all happy to have a new baby in the family.. and in one picture Auntie and A are proud of having the same kind of t-shirts from America :)

everyday life

now life is starting to feel normal again. here at home everything is busy all the time, as my brother-in-law has started working again so my sister comes over with her two adorable kids. that is actually the best way of waking up, to hear a small happy voice from downstairs screaming Iiiita. then I hear a lot of talking and climbing and the door opening and then I hear the even happier and louder HEI. thats my nephew A!!! and I’m really happy that they come over and spend all this time with us. and yeah, its not fair to not mention his little sister L. she is now one month and she is just a baby. she sleeps eats and poops. and she is so cute. adorable.

I love being able to put laundry outside to dry.

And the fact that I’m living in a mess with my suitcases still on the floor containing some of the stuff I had with me from the US. that means vacation.

now that I’ve done some shopping to my computer I might start putting all the things to their right places :)

but first I have to pay some bills.. and finish the book I started.. and maybe then… *vacation*

This Saturday we will have a second baby-dedication as my sisters babygirl will be blessed here at our house. I’ve promised to bake for mom so she don’t have to. Thats going to be fun!!!

but today was the best. I met my sis-Irre again!!!! that was so much fun. I got a new song. I’m so happy about that. and it was just good to spend time together again!

here she is playing and singing and I could sit for hours and just listen to her. Her voice is so beautyful!

here we are with our caps and shirts from NY. :)

re-union

so I’m in Karis now. My Home. And now I can say that I’m home again because this is my Town. Here is my Church and my Friends. And on Sunday-night we were a bunch of people at my place hanging out and doing nothing. which is the best thing to do on a Sundaynight.

we were loaded with a lot of delicious Finnish Candy, Chips, Soda, Cupcaces and Chocolate!!! Amelie has pictures from this part of the evening. I kinda forgot to take pictures.. But the best things with nights like this is that one can never know whats gonna happen and how its going to end. so after all the ”workers” who had to get up early on monday-morning five of us were left and we wanted to go out and talk about Important Things. so we sat into my little car and drove out to a little lake in the middle of the Forrest.

There we did everything and nothing. Amelie found a flower.

Which t and Hanna adored.

There is some things that u do that just require that u have bare feet.

We sat on the cliffs and talked about Important Things until I realized that we had picked the worst part to sit on. Because of that we moved to The Bench and there we sat. On a row and started palying games.

Amelie’s phone did not wanna co-operate with us so we lost The Story. After mourning for three seconds we were over it and could move on to Other Things like building a sand-castle:

and chasing bats.. someone has said that they like whites.. so all u Batmans enemies, avoid whites.. allthough T did not catch any.. maybe it was my flashing flashthat scared them away. Or then they are so boring that they didn’t wanna come and have fun with us..

There is no Successfull Night Out whithout dance. We were dancing Chiken Noodle Soup and u should have seen how the sand flew everywhere becouse Our Mooooves.

Dancing is fun. But not as fun as just having fun posing to the camera… we’re the Strongest.

we’re the best dancers

this is Modern Art

Hanna da Troll taking pictures of herself and not US. *hrmpf* and we are standing all still waiting…..

we can see it. we can see it.. it is coming…

oh ou.. the Truth Is Out There..

we didn’t do anything.

Look. its there. its coming..  hide….

T&T our BodyGuards saved us from the Monsters in the Forrest.

and before going home Hanna wanted to take a swim.. but at this point we all were so cold that the water wasn’t too tempting anymore..

There is nothing like Being Home and Enjoying with u’r Friends. Its good to be back. very good.

the wedding

The first weekend at home came and went. Avery good friend of mine got married so I drove down to the Southern Finland, to My Hometown Karis. It was good to get Home to My Appartment and to sleep in My Own Bed. But during my time abroad I had some friends renting this place from me to whom I emptied the place., Well its still quite empty and my storageroom down in the basement is FULL. but that’s a project I’ll do later..

The wedding was beautiful. The colour was green, which made me happy and the couple was so good looking and handsome. And here they are:

And here the happy reunion with me and the bride:

The best whishes to the newlyweds!!!

ready2go

Now we are counting down minutes. It’s 90 minutes until we are going to leave to the airport. I have double and tripple checked my flight departure time and that I have my passport and everything.

I’ve figured out this thing with overweight :) and kilos and pounds. And my suitcases are not that heavy. together they are 14 pounds to much, wich would make about 7 kilos. so that is not too much.. But then thinking that when I came I had 26 kilos and now I leave with *counting* 53 kilos.. that’s a big difference :) well what can I say, I’ve been here for a long time, done a lot of things and it’s cheap(er) here than at home.

Don’t u by the way like my new suitcase, the green one with dots and a bow.. I like it alot. And my bags are so easy to spot by baggage clame, and that is nice! don’t need to read any tags to make shure that I got the right bags.

So the next time I’m writing I’ll be home in Finland. In Vaasa at my moms house.. That feels so surreal. That I’m actually gonna be home soon. In about 30 hours to be exact. Or I won’t be home then, but I’ll be in Finland at least. then we still have the 5 hour drive up to Vaasa. But thats gonna be just fun because there is a lot of things to talk about now!

And by the way, just making it clear, from now I’m using my Finnish telephone number again. If u don’t have it, mail me and I might give it to u. If u have it already, u can just delete my american one.

So officially this is also the ending of my blog being a traveling-blog. After this it is back normal everyday life. However that is gonna be like.. Hard to imagine. Now I thinks it’s time for me to stop talking a lot of rubbish and just end this thing. Thats something they tried to teach us at metro.. know when to end and don’t loop. So The End.

When u are a guest at people from India u never know what will happen. Something like this for example:

this is when it’s all applied

and this is when it’s done.

Now I’m happy and ready to come home. 22 hours left on this side of the big ocean.

Euros came, Dollars went

I had this dream where the dollars value chantged so that everything became very expensive for me.. But good for me that was only a dream. Yesterday we talked with my family and it was so nice. My nephew Aron is so big already and he could say that Ida is coming with theairplane.. but he said ofcourse in his way..

After that we went again to Providence Place, to buy some stuff. And on the way a found a Tim Horton’s so I got my last Ice Capp!!! that was yummy.

Today I slept in again, because my sunburn is a little bit worse than I first thought and it gave me a hard time in the night. Then we went out to look at Darthmouth and the surroundings a little bit.. Shopping some kandy for home at Wal-Mart and afternoon (=cheap) movie. We saw Hancock, the new Will Smith one. It was good and entertaining. After that we took a look around in the Darthmouth mall and made some very nice founds.

I was going to show u some pictures of what I bought but then I realized that now.. It’s too much and a lot of my new stuff are already packed down.. First I also thought that I haven’t bought that much while being here but then I started counting.. And yeah 4 months is a long time to shop for things. Especially if u find them an sale and clearence. I can tell u so much that I bought 4 pairs of pants today for a total of $35 (22,80€). That was a good bargain. And now I can gladly dump some of my old ones..

What we will do on Sunday I don’t know yet.. We’ll see that tomorrow.

So that’s me right now. Soon back in Finland. What about you?

what a day!

u know those people that u see in every big city? they come atleast in twos and twos.. but often in even bigger groups. and if their group is extra careful they all ware matching shirts. They are all prepared with digital cameras, videocameras, backpacks, wallets/pass-portcases that u carry under ur shirt so that no pick-pocketers can rech ur money and credit card. They ware funny looking hats so that sun won’t get them and cheap rip-off sunglasses. if they’r really the original ones they even have shorts with a lot of pockets and runners with socks high up. and we can’t forget the waterbottle and the wet-wipes. yes. don’t we all love them? tourist.

I’ve never liked being a tourist. but now I’m actually starting to enjoy theese kinda things.. I can’t really yet admit that I would fit in that previous description, maybe in 30 years.. and if I do, someone please slap me. but yeah, now in Darthmouth my hosts here have neverhad the reason to take part of the ”tourist-side” of their state.. So now I’m the good reason and excuse for doing all that. So yesterday we went on a lovely trolley sightseeing tour in Boston. A lot of beautyful things to see there.. I could definetly go back there and be tourist a bit more. And today.. today we did the most amazing thing ever!!!! yep!!!! we went.. are u ready, this is gonna be so cool that u never even dreamt of this.. I had never imagined this could be possible for someone like me. so yes we went with our car and we drove for a while. and then we changed to a big big boat. and then we went out to the ocean for a long while and then we stopped because we saw whales. how cooool is that? I’ve seen live whales in water.. or atleast I’ve seen their tales and the water flying from them when they breathe. No, we did se one of them in its full length above the surfase.. the rest of them were kinda shy and playful. But that was cool. And the price to pay for that experience is a kinda bad sunburn. But it was totally worth it.

Then we realized that th indipendenceday celebrations are not on the actual 4th but 3rd, that is today.. oops.. quickly get changed and out we go again. listen to some music. look at alot a lot a lot of people and some of greatest fireworks ever. that is why I wanted to stay here in the U.S. for this long.. because of the fireworks. and it was so worth it. *love*

pictures might come later. I’ll see if I’m in mood yet.. probably not.

because we non-americans celebrated the 4th of July today we can be typical americans tomorrow on the actual day and go to a big mall and shop a little bit moore :) I’m not done with that yet!

Now I’ll go to bed so that I’ll be able to get up in time for our msn-date with my family tomorrow-morning. jejej. thats gonna be nice.

good night!
